Find out what others are saying about Headfirst:
TESTIMONIAL OF THE WEEK (Wednesday, July 21, 2010)
Headfirst Honor Roll Camp has been by far the best camp he has been to and the best with respect to access to all the coaches --- you guys did a great job and my son already has been contacted. Thanks again your camp was worth every penny and then some!!!
-- Paul H. (Father of Camper at 2010 HRC III)
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING...
“The camp was really, really good. The way you set it up to have so much exposure to the coaches in terms of them watching the kids play and being available to talk to the players during resting games is brilliant. The speeches that Brendan, Ted, and John gave were terrific and addressed all the important issues with common sense and sage advice. Our son Buddy made a lot of excellent contact with coaches at schools he is interested in, and we feel the trip was well worth the investment.”
-Tim S., father of Buddy, attendee of Honor Roll Camp II, June 2010.
I would need more than a few sentences to convey my high opinion and sentiments of what Headfirst represents and signifies. As a former member of the Honor Roll Camp staff, I can report with certainty that Headfirst runs the best showcases for true student-athletes. The staff works hard to maximize the players’ time and energy while at Camp. Brendan Sullivan and his team also do a great job of facilitating contact between the players and the college coaches. The recruiting process would have been much easier had Headfirst Honor Roll Camp been around when I was in High School.

Dear Brendan & John:
We wanted to drop a note to Headfirst to say "thank you" for the part you played in getting our son recruited into a great school: Macalester College. The Honor Roll Baseball Camps run by Headfirst deliver one best and unique opportunities any young man can have to truly get recruited for both a great education and playing college baseball-all at the same time.

Headfirst was the best showcase I have ever attended! I am yet to find an equal or better one. It was an outstanding experience and I had fantastic exposure, I was noticed by no less than 22 coaches who showed great interest in me. The showcase was serious, disciplined well structured, and run so professionally. Your knowledgeable and pleasant staff was at all times available to answer all questions. It was just great! Your showcase is one of a kind.
-- Mike (Camper at 2010 HRC II - Long Island, NY)

Very well run and thought out. Great spirit of collaboration from players, families, administrators and college coaches -- everyone's in it together. The experience succeeds brilliantly at making the athletes feel comfortable and as free of performance anxiety as possible despite the daunting high wire act of auditioning for colleges.

The Headfirst Honor Roll Camps provide exactly what they advertise! They bring college coaches to their camps that are actually "there to recruit"... Lots of programs have coaches attend but none are run like Headfirst camps. Honor Roll Camps are run to encourage and provide opportunities for coaches to interact with players that they are interested in learning more about.

Our son was lucky to leave camp with 7 schools interested in his baseball skills. Lucky for us the first Coach to talk to him was Coach Parrington of Macalester College. Over the months that followed Joe made three different school visits but it became clear very soon that his first choice was to play for Coach Parrington and attend Macalester College. We realize you have lots kids you have to worry about at your camps but because of how your camps are run--you did a great job just for us. Brendan, the organization you have built works for the kids that understand it. They have to take care of their own part of being ready for these camps. I would tell any parent willing to listen that getting the Headfirst staff to help you match-up your ballplayers' talent/academic skills with the right target schools cannot start too soon. Getting ready for an Headfirst Honor Roll Camp should start the day you enter high school. Thanks for the part you played in our son's dream.
Headfirst can help build a foundation for a young student-baseball players' life.
All our best,
Joseph

At a time when consumers too often don't get what they paid for, Headfirst is an exception. The two day camp was an exceptional value, in fact, priceless given the opportunity the kids had to see and meet so many college coaches and to learn about their baseball programs in a comfortable, informal setting rather than in an intimidating coach's office. As a parent, to see all the coaches in their respective uniforms was quite inspiring and I would guess that it was inspiring for the kids, too. I'm not sure who worked harder for the two days we were there, the Headfirst staff, the college coaches or the players, but everyone gave it 110% and it certainly showed! To be able to have the kids shoulder to shoulder with college coaches in the dugouts and on the fields is a unique opportunity that hopefully will help to make the daunting college application process a little more relaxing and all the more productive for families.

We have been to more than a dozen showcase camps in the past few years, and none of them has been more helpful than the Honor Roll Camp. The players and college coaches are encouraged by the Headfirst staff to enteract with each other so players who might otherwise be reluctant to approach a college coach can follow the examples of their peers rather than the directions of their parents. The organization and helpfulness of the Headfirst staff are unparallelled. Our player received valuable, personalized feedback from the Headfirst staff that we have not received anywhere else. They work very hard to make sure that every player benefits from the camp and that no one gets lost in a crowd.

I played DI college baseball and this is THE best opportunity for high school players I have seen in my baseball career. My son is an excellent player, but he had no idea how beneficial this Camp would be. In addition to great instruction/information, he has been contacted by 12 schools in the first five days since camp (five of those DI). As a parent, I could not be more pleased with your organization and this experience. I haven't stopped talking about it since we got home from Richmond. This ABSOLUTELY blows away any other college showcase experience I have ever witnessed. There is not even a close second.
Thank you so much!

My son's experience at the Richmond camp exceeded our expectations. As advertised, coaches from all of the listed schools were in attendance and were available between games to talk to players. I was proud that my son took the opportunity to talk to a number of the coaches. We have received a number of calls and e-mails from coaches since we attended the camp and I know that my son would not be on these school's radar screens but for the Honor Roll Camp.

Brendan,
One word — phenomenal! The Headfirst Camp was not only extremely profitable for prospective collegiate baseball opportunities, but it was also one of the most positive baseball experiences my son has enjoyed! The Headfirst staff to a man, are all exceptionally high quality guys who took a genuine interest in helping every young aspiring ball player succeed in camp. The camp was incredibly well organized and the college and baseball information we received was invaluable. The game format really highlighted Hunter's strengths, allowing him to display his hustle, determination, leadership and passion for the game — all things that aren't easily measured in a traditional skills showcase setting. As a direct result of the Headfirst Camp, Hunter has recevied earnest interest from 7 outstanding academic institutions with great baseball programs. He could not have imagined in his wildest dreams that so many quality schools would be recruiting him to play ball and we look forward to the wonderful privilege of making a selection from amoung many excellent choices. We cannot fully express our gratitude for facilitating this opportunity — none of this would have been possible without Headfirst. We wish you continued success in the future. Please let us know if there is ever anything we can do to help in any way. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Will & Hunter Walton

Headfirst provided a first rate exposure to top notch college coaches benefiting players in two ways:
1. an opportunity to improve baseball skills with outstanding instruction, and 2. a chance to have many college coaches evaluate play as part of the recruiting process. In addition to an efficient and well-run camp with a great deal of emphasis on safety, Headfirst also introduced many attendees to the non-baseball advantages of student life at many of the excellent colleges and universities that participated.

Dear Coach Bramlette,
Hope all is well with you and the staff at Headfirst. We do not have a facebook account and therefore I am contacting you via email.
Just wanted to let you know that our son Justin is having a great senior season and has decided to attend Macalester College and play for Coach Parrington and the Macalester Scots baseball team.
We all had a fantastic experience at your Headfirst Showcase this past summer in Richmond, VA. The showcase was incredibly organized and well run and I can't imagine any showcase as rewarding and enjoyable as yours.
We have recommended your showcase to several of Justin's friends and will continue to do so.
Thanks again for your hospitality and making our experience so enjoyable.
Have a great summer.
- Howard
