Unless instructed otherwise, ballplayers should plan to arrive for check-in between 7:00 and 7:30am on the first day of camp. Camp programming will begin at 7:45am.
While event schedules can vary, Day 1 typically includes our offensive and defensive showcases (including 60-yard dash), an optional college recruiting seminar for parents, and four simulated games (each player will participate in 2 of these 4 games).
Day 2 is comprised of additional simulated games. Once again, ballplayers will participate in 2 of 4 scheduled games. Our final round of games will end by approximately 4:30pm on Day 2.
Pitchers should be prepared to throw two (2) simulated innings each day, if arms allow (and can limit themselves to one day or fewer innings if necessary). We will be available to speak with pitchers about their innings and arms at registration/check-in.
Traveling From The West
For those flying, Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) is the most convenient airport (about 20 minutes from Baseball Heaven) but both LaGuardia and JFK Airports (approximately 50 miles) are also possibilities. Baseball Heaven is located near Yaphank, NY on Long Island, in between I-495 and Route 27. For those flying home after Camp, it is best to get a flight at 6:30pm (ISP)/8:00 pm (LGA/JFK) or later if possible. Headfirst will not be able to provide rides to and from the airport.
Attending campers/families are not required to stay at a particular hotel, but Headfirst has arranged for discounted room blocks as follows:
Fairfield Inn & Suites
All campers will be responsible for their own lodging while at the Honor Roll Camp. Headfirst will not be able to provide rides to and from the airport.
Ballplayers are welcome to travel to the Honor Roll Camp without an accompanying family member (though most do arrive with family) but will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the airport and ballpark.
Headfirst provided a unique forum for my son to display his skills and ability. During the summer season, he had gone to several “high-profile” tournaments, yet gone relatively unnoticed by college scouts. After attending Headfirst, he was approached by 4 college scouts that wished to recruit him. The following week he had several other solid leads for excellent schools. The money we invested in this showcase was worth every penny. Father of 2012 Northeast Honor Roll Camperview more testimonials
