Does Headfirst provide a lunch for the campers?
Headfirst does not provide lunch or any meals for campers. Headfirst will make arrangements for food to be available for purchase at the facility and we will also provide information about nearby food options. Though there will not be a dedicated lunch break during the afternoon, players will have breaks in their game schedule during which they will be able to eat a meal or snack. We will communicate these breaks clearly to the players.
Is there a sporting goods store close to Woodland Sports Park where we can pick up baseball/sports supplies?
Near Facility: Big 5 Sporting Goods - 431 Pioneer Ave., Woodland, CA 95776

Arrival Time & Check-In

Players should plan to arrive for check-in between 7:00 and 7:30am on the first day of camp. Camp programming will begin at 7:40am. All players will be given a Dri-Fit numbered jersey to wear during the event.

Typical Schedule, Day 1

While event schedules may be adjusted depending on weather, Day 1 typically includes coach introductions, offensive and defensive showcases and objective measurements (including 60-yard dash and exit velocity), prep stations, all-camp talks from college coaches and 4 simulated games (each player will participate in 2 of these 4 games). For half of the teams, the day will end around 7:30pm, while the late games will end around 9:30pm.

Typical Schedule, Day 2

Report times will be based on Day 1’s team assignments and will be communicated during the evening of Day 1. Players who finish in the early game slots on Day 1 will be in the first game slots on Day 2 (likely a 7:45 report time), and players who had the late games on Day 1 will have the late morning games on Day 2 (likely a 9:45 report time). We will host an optional college recruiting seminar for parents in the morning before each team’s first game. We will then play 4 games (2 per student-athlete). The early game slots will conclude around 3:30pm and the final round of games will end by approximately 5pm.

Information for Pitchers

Primary pitchers should be prepared to throw 2 innings each day (5 hitters per inning). If primary pitchers, for any reason, would rather throw only one inning, our Pitching Coordinator will help assist in making the adjustment. Secondary pitchers should be prepared to throw 1 inning (5 hitters) each day.

Travel & Accommodations All campers will be responsible for getting to the Honor Roll Camp locations on their own.

ballplayers traveling to Headfirst baseball prospect camp in California

Ballplayers are welcome to travel to the Honor Roll Camp without an accompanying family member (though most do arrive with family) but will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the airport and ballpark.

By far the best showcase my son has attended. The organization was second to none. The exposure and interaction with college coaches has garnered a huge amount of interest in his recruiting process from numerous schools. 2016 Headfirst Baseball Honor Roll Parent
